FILM lovebirds Heath Ledger, and Naomi Watts have Orlando Bloom to thank for bringing them together and helping them stay that way.

The three pals were in Australia filming The Kelly Gang, a rehash of the antipodean outlaws legend, when Bloom decided to play Cupid.

After arranging the set-up, Orlando who played elf Legolas in Lord Of The Rings acted as a decoy so the couple could cement their romance without public scrutiny.

And it worked the Aussie-born star of A Knights Tale soon fell for Naomi, who wowed viewers in Molholland Drive.

"Orlando loved being a part of it," revealed an insider on the movie. "He'd arrive at nightclubs with Heath knowing that, once inside the VIP room, hed be dumped for Naomi (Meaning: Heath'll go over to Naomi. NOT WHAT YOURE THINKING!). He thought the whole aspect was hilarious"

Despite the 10-year age gap, sources say Heath, 23, has already asked Naomi to move into his Hollywood home. Ahh...
